SAHAR Orgnization Background

Strengthening Abilities, Health And Rehabilitation Organization (SAHAR-O), is a non-profit and non-governmental organization, registered with the Ministry of Economy. SAHAR has started with the aim of providing support the most needy population through providing health care, Psychosocial  & Physical Rehabilitation of children and women with disability, assistive devices, prosthetics and orthotics cares,  promotion of livelihood, social economic improvements, and food security, development of education, Vocational Trainings, Capacity Building and vocational trainings, water livestock, and natural resources community development, specially men, women, youths, disables, returnees IDPs, and gender mainstreaming, SAHAR is highly facilitation and working on to create educational opportunities for children (boys/girls) at community level.

The organization envisions to work as an effective reliable, innovative and a pioneer organization in the field of Rehabilitation, Health Care Services Provision, community development and reduction of vulnerability with its organizational mission being to empower individuals and communities, in joint efforts with social and civil societies, SAHAR’s main target groups are rural communities across in Afghanistan with a distinct focus on vulnerable populations and in particular, children, men, women, and person with disabilities to provide health care services, rehabilitation, assistive devices, prosthetics and orthotics cares.

Vision:

SAHAR’s vision is to promote the rights of people particularly children, women, person with disabilities, war victims to health care, rehabilitation,  assistive devices, prosthetics and orthotics cares, psychosocial support, education, social services and community development to play a key role in the development of the societies. 

Mission:

SAHAR’s mission statement to support the process of empowerment individuals, communities, grassroots civil society organizations and promote gender equity by improving development indicators pertaining to poverty reduction, WASH, health, rehabilitation, assistive devices, prosthetics and orthotics cares, education, human rights, environment and livelihood support to individuals or families in desperate need.

OBJECTIVE:

• Strategic Objective 1. Promote the empowerment of the children and women with disabilities through health care, rehabilitation, social support and psychosocial support.

• Strategic Objective 2. Promote livelihood and conduct technical and vocational education, research investigations for the support of target beneficiaries.

• Strategic Objective 3. Promoting protection focusing men, women, girls and most vulnerable communities through livelihood activities and humanitarian assistance.

• Strategic Objective 4. Provide Health, Education, food security, livelihood, legal social services to the hopeless and vulnerable individuals, women and children.

• Strategic Objective 5: Increasing on the job vocational training to women, girls and children with disabilities to live with dignity and support their families.

• Strategic Objective 6: Provide Rehabilitation Services including physical, assistive devices, Prosthetics & Orthotics cares, Psychosocial, educational interventions to the vulnerable people and communities. 

• Strategic Objective 7: Establishing Rehabilitation Centers for the provision of quality rehabilitation services to ensure access to health, education and social services.
